Symbio Networks launches sub-wholesale mobile virtual network offer

September 1st, 2017

iBoss parent company Symbio Networks is pleased to announce the launch of a sub-wholesale mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) offer, the first of its kind in the Australian market. This new sub-wholesale agreement secured with Telstra Wholesale is in addition to the existing agency MVNO agreement, and delivers a completely self-managed mobile service to wholesale customers over the iBoss platform.

Symbio customers entering the mobile market will now have unprecedented management capabilities when it comes to their own consumers, including the ability to bill directly, allowing for increased pricing and margin flexibility. The sub-wholesale agreement also offers enhanced services, including roaming options and a much faster on-boarding process.

“Symbio and MNF Group have a proven track record of delivering innovative, first to market solutions for our customers,” said Rene Sugo, CEO and co-founder of Symbio parent company MNF Group. “While our agency MVNO offer has been welcomed by wholesale customers, we also found that there was a growing demand for services through a sub-wholesale model. This first to market MVNO offer will give our customers unprecedented control over their own consumers when it comes to billing and communication; we simply deliver the SIM card and the 4G mobile coverage.”

The sub-wholesale MVNO service provides a 4G coverage footprint of 95% and a combined 4G and 3G coverage footprint of 98.8% of the Australian population. It will operate over Symbio’s proprietary iBoss platform, which allows new mobile players to go to market in 4 weeks and activate SIM cards 7 seconds of order placement.

Symbio has already signed a raft of new customers who recognised the advantages of the new sub-wholesale MVNO service. Unhappy with the alternatives on the market, established industry player Aussie Broadband chose to move to Symbio for its contractual flexibility and competitive pricing.

“Having access to a fully functional wholesale product was at the core of our decision. Having previously worked with Symbio, we knew they had the capability to deliver a robust mobile solution tailored to our needs” said Aussie Broadband Managing Director, Phillip Britt.

“Whilst internet is our core product, we also want to make sure that we can offer customers a full suite of quality products. Symbio’s iBoss platform has allowed us to fully integrate our own highly automated systems so that we can connect customers with minimum touch.”

The iBoss enablement platform has a long history interoperating with Telstra, being the first to on-board with the Telstra WME platform. Symbio will continue to offer its agency model MVNO service for customers who don’t want to assume billing and management responsibilities.

iBoss makes the Anthill Smart 100 innovations list

May 23rd, 2016

We are pleased to announce that iBoss has been listed as a finalist in Anthill’s SMART 100 innovations for 2016!

The SMART 100 Index was created by leading business media channel Anthill Magazine in 2008 to identify and rank Australia’s 100 most innovative products and services, as voted by a panel of 50 industry experts.

The iBoss solution was selected thanks to innovative systems we provide to enable more competition in the telco industry, allowing smaller telcos to compete against the big players in the NBN and VoIP services market. The current NBN business model is structured in a way that makes it extremely difficult for smaller telcos to access and resell NBN, with a lot of them selling up their businesses to the bigger competitors.

The team at iBoss parent Symbio Networks noticed the telecommunications market taking a hit, and worked to enhance the iBoss platform’s longstanding aggregation offering to include NBN and new-generation Voice over IP alongside PSTN and Mobile to help level the playing field – with the mentality that a diverse market is a healthy one.

iBoss helps prospective telcos by streamlining the process, delivering NBN in one easy, cost-effective solution. It has the proven ability to fast-track a product to market so you can jump straight into business without worrying about operations. With iBoss, anyone can have a slice of the NBN pie.

We are proud to be included in this year’s shortlist. You can read more about our submission here
